UFC middleweight Azamat Bekoev made quick work of Ryan Loder at UFC Des Moines getting the TKO finish in the first round, and raising his UFC record to 2-0.
Bekoev (20-3) took on a decorated wrestler in Loder in the state of Iowa where fans love them some wrestling. On top of that he took on an American in the US so the boos from fans weren’t at all a surprise.
“I expected (that reaction from the crowd) because this is wrestling state. I’ve heard a lot about this state,” Bekoev told reporters including Cageside Press at his post-fight scrum.
“Also my coach Steve Mocco’s son wrestled for this school. I should (have told them) about that. Then they would support me I think.”
With such a quick fight and generally unscathed Bekoev shot his shot for a very quick turn around. One-week turnaround in fact.
“I’m ready to get back this week in Canada. There is one middleweight fight,” he said.
“If somebody will pull out, I’m ready to take this fight, even one day notice. If nobody pull out I’m going to go take little bit rest, heal, and come back as soon as possible. I want to fight two more in this year maybe more.”
